The National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) is the first Italian research center dedicated to biodiversity. It is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) with EU – NextGenerationEU funds and brings together experts from universities, research centers, and companies to develop technological innovation strategies for the monitoring, protection, and enhancement of species and habitats in Italy.
The Biodiversity Gateway is the digital infrastructure that connects scientific research and society, making knowledge and innovations on biodiversity accessible. Its physical hubs in Palermo and Venice coordinate distributed locations across the national territory and protected areas, while the online platform facilitates the sharing of information and sustainable solutions.
Citizen Science Italia is an Italian association that promotes and supports citizen science, i.e., the active participation of citizens in scientific research. The association fosters dialogue between scientists, institutions, and civil society, with the aim of making science more accessible, inclusive, and collaborative. Through projects, events, training, and national and international networks, Citizen Science Italia enhances the contribution of citizens to the collection and analysis of scientific data in fields such as environment, biodiversity, health, and culture.
EU-Citizen.Science is a European citizen science platform that acts as a knowledge hub and community space to promote and support citizen science in Europe. It aims to strengthen and expand the citizen science community by facilitating knowledge sharing, training, and collaboration among individuals, organizations, and institutions involved in citizen science initiatives.
