Revicta – Una nuova infrastruttura di fiducia per la Citizen Science
from 01/06/2026
Project description
Revicta is an innovation project applied to Citizen Science that integrates Artificial Intelligence, cryptography, and blockchain technologies to ensure the traceability, integrity, and certification of scientific contributions produced by citizens. Through digital data notarization, Revicta aims to strengthen trust in participatory research processes and enhance the role of citizens as recognized contributors to scientific knowledge.

⚠️ Revicta — Non-profit Testnet Platform
This software is an experimental, non-commercial project dedicated to educational, outreach, and citizen science purposes (specifically, blockchain-based timestamping/validation via a Distributed Public Ledger).
In compliance with current regulations, please note that Artificial Intelligence technologies were used solely to assist with programming and writing the computer code. The platform does not feature AI systems that interact with users; it operates in a purely testing environment (Research and Development) and is provided free of charge on an "as-is" basis, with no profit-making intent.
Objectives
The main objective of Revicta is to develop a digital trust infrastructure for Citizen Science, capable of ensuring the traceability, integrity, and certification of scientific contributions generated by citizens.
The project aims to:
- enhance the role of citizens as active and recognized participants in research processes;
- increase transparency and data verifiability through digital notarization tools;
- promote Open Science principles by enabling more reliable, documented, and reproducible data;
- integrate Artificial Intelligence, cryptography, and decentralized technologies as tools to support collaboration between citizens and the scientific community;
- create a replicable model that can be applied to different fields of participatory research.
- Complete the integration of the mobile module for evidence collection (photos, GPS, timestamp, and SHA-256 hash calculated on the device, with integrity verification), making a functional and verifiable demonstration tool available to citizens.

How to participate
Individuals can engage with the Revicta project as active participants in citizen science processes, contributing to the collection, documentation, and validation of scientific data via dedicated digital tools.
Citizens can participate in testing the platform, providing contributions that are certified through digital notarization systems, thereby helping to create data that is more transparent, verifiable, and reliable.
Researchers, scientific institutions, associations, and local communities can collaborate on defining use cases, validating results, and developing new participatory research models grounded in trust and collaboration between citizens and the scientific community.
