Università di Parma
Descrizione dell'organizzazione
The University of Parma is an Italian public university and one of the oldest in Europe, with origins dating back to 962 AD, when a decree by Emperor Otto I established higher schools of law in the city.
Today, the university is a modern and dynamic institution, with thousands of students and a wide educational offer structured across numerous degree programmes and departments. It is characterized by a strong connection to its local territory, high-quality teaching, and an active research profile spanning a broad range of scientific and humanistic fields.
The university is spread across a scientific campus and several sites in the historic centre of Parma, combining tradition and innovation within a culturally rich environment. It also stands out at the national level as the only Italian university to include a course dedicated to Citizen Science in its academic offer.
This course is part of the Bachelor’s degree in Science of Nature and the Environment, but, as a transversal course, it is open to all students of the university, promoting an interdisciplinary and participatory approach to scientific research.
The university is also a member of the EUGREEN Alliance, a European alliance of universities committed to promoting environmental sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation in education and research. Through EUGREEN, the University of Parma contributes to the development of shared educational programmes, student mobility opportunities, and interdisciplinary initiatives addressing the challenges of the green transition.
